October MAKER OF THE MONTH – wins a FREE Funky Friends Factory Pattern!

Nov 17, 2021 | Blog, Competitions & Giveaways

It looks like toy makers are gearing up for the holidays! October’s Maker of the Month finalists include LOTS of creative family keepsakes to give you inspiration for your own festive sewing!

Take a look…

Ginny Murphy made this wonderful version of the Preston Polar Bear Pattern for her granddaughter, and she’s using the Polar Bear fabric he’s sitting on to make her a dress. What a wonderful grandma you are, Ginny! I’m sure this present will always be remembered.

Julie Jordan says she enjoys using knitted items and thick fabrics in her toys because they create a high cuddle factor. She did a beautiful job arranging the fabrics in this set of Melody Memory Bears.

Any keepsake maker will tell you that it’s so much easier to plan a fabulous toy when the items you’re given match! Julie Childe made three beautiful memory bears from coordinating cardigans. I love these colors and patterns, and they look great on the Melody Memory Bear Pattern.

Here’s an adorable version pf the Keep Me Keepsake Bear Pattern ready for gifting. This happy bear sewn by Claire Marie Steele is made from flannel shirts. I like how these fabrics give the bear a “woodsy” charm.

Angie Wade used a fleece baby blanket to make a fun embroidered version of the Keep Me Keepsake Bear Pattern. I designed this bear especially for this type customization using embroidery or heat transfer vinyl (HTV). The pattern pieces show you exactly where to center your design hoops to center content on the tummy, foot pads, arms and sides.
