More Christmas Toys to inspire YOU!

Dec 14, 2021 | Blog, Competitions & Giveaways

It’s summer here Australia so I’ve been enjoying the wonderful wintry Christmas creations in our Facebook group. Here is a fun selection of snowmen, reindeer and polar bears to inspire your sewing – plus a few other North Pole residents for good measure!❄️

Let it snow,
I mean let’s go…

First up we have a festive Reggie Reindeer in a fun, starry fabric. This rather dear deer was sewn by Pam Robinson.

This up-sized version of the Reggie Reindeer pattern was sewn by Patricia Lyndaker-Delles and it was our most popular Facebook post in November! This big fella would look great next to your Christmas tree.

Nat Egan made this sweet Reggie Reindeer as a keepsake toy from baby clothes. The non-traditional colors look fabulous! 💗

While the regular Reggie Reindeer pattern is made with button joints, you can also make a “baby safe” version with the limbs sewn in the seams. Here’s a step-by-step blog post I put together to show you how to do it!

Emma Bouton used the “no joints” technique when she made this exquisite Reggie Reindeer keepsake from baby clothes. I love the matching scarf and nose!

This festive Reggie Reindeer keepsake sewn by Joan Smith incorporates lots of different fabric textures.

Gail of Gail’s Little Sewing Room sewed up a Reggie Reindeer to use as a photo prop for her grandchild’s first Christmas photo shoot. Don’t you love how they’re both sitting with their arms out – look at me Mom!!!!

I just adore this post by Michelle Jones, who made a Reggie Reindeer that has been claimed by her mom. All ages love a soft toy, so please don’t forget the “big kids” on your list this year.

Last week’s blog post included a link to my FREE Christmas hat pattern, and I was delighted to see how Paula Blevins sewed tiny hats for her creations using the “toy size” versions included. Calico Bear, Ning Panda, Tom Turkey, and these Slush Snowman twins won’t get too cold during their sledding thanks to their hats.

I can see someone’s going to be “wrapped” to receive this well-accessorized Slush Snowman sewn by Chris Fowler. That’s little Ginger, Slush’s best friend (the gingerbread man pattern is included!).

Preston Polar Bear is one one my older patterns who made a rollicking comeback this year with a new photo tutorial. Monique Methot made her Preston with a cute cotton print. He may not blend in with the snow, but who wants to blend in when you’re this adorable!

This fleece version of the Preston Polar Bear Pattern sewn by Diane Montague looks ultra-huggable (I’m sure much more huggable than a REAL polar bear!).

We’ll wrap up with some pics of the other famous North Pole residents starting with…

Santa Claus!

This cute version of my All I Want for Christmas Santa Pattern was sewn by Gail’s Little Sewing Room (Gail is really in the Christmas spirit this year!) has arrived a bit early under her Christmas tree. He’s obviously hoping for extra cookies.

I’ve gotta say, I love the fun prints Fabulous Fabric Things used on their version of the Santa Sewing Pattern! What a great way to use up your collection of Christmas fabrics.

This pic wasn’t posted on our fan page, but I found it because it was tagged “made with a #funkyfriendsfactory pattern.” When you use a tag on your social media posts I know to come see your pics!

AND a couple Elves…

These matching Elf Twins by Natalie Rogers are taking a work break in this pic, but I’m sure they’ll get back on the job after they catch their breath. It’s less than two weeks to Christmas!
