Meet “Chris MOUSE” – he’s a cute little Christmas Decoration!

Nov 26, 2010 | Blog, NEW Toy Patterns, Uncategorized

You’ve heard the George Michael song, “Last Christmas……”? Well, this pattern is kind of like that because LAST CHRISTMAS I had the idea to make a Funky Friends Factory critter to hang on my Christmas tree as a decoration…

and I’m NOT very good at drawing but…

I made a quick sketch of my idea so I wouldn’t forget it and when I saw all those divine Christmas fabrics, I just knew I had to make him for THIS CHRISTMAS!

I know I fall in LOVE with each NEW Funky Friend I make, BUT I have to say, I think this is the cutest thing I have ever made!!!!!! : ) Is a mother allowed to have favourites???

This is Chris MOUSE posing for his first (of many?) photo shoots with a flashing Christmas Lights NECKLACE that I couldn’t resist buying for him the minute I saw it – it’s JUST his size and I know he’d be helping ME decorate the Christmas tree this year before I got him to behave and hang exactly where I put him!

I haven’t had a chance to put up my Christmas tree up yet, so I took Chris MOUSE out into the garden and hung him up on a Grevillia bush, which has the most beautiful flowers that actually look like Christmas decorations themselves!

Chris MOUSE had a ball swinging from the branches and only came back inside because it looked like it was about to rain and I promised he could hang around in the lounge and watch some kiddies’ TV!

Chris MOUSE is made up in fleece but you could use other stretch fabrics eg. velour, chenille and flannelette, for the body.I used Christmas quilting fabric but you can use any fabric scraps for the highlights. I would say that he’s NOT a difficult pattern as I have made him large enough to sew on the sewing machine… but I would recommend that children and beginner toy-makers may want to try some of my simpler patterns first?

The Chris MOUSE Christmas Decoration Pattern is available now, from the Funky Friends Factory website.

Hope you like him!
