Introducing Voodoo Rabbit – the latest Funky Friends Factory Stockist.

Nov 24, 2010 | A day in my life, Blog, FFF News

Kylie and Cloud are the very talented duo behind Voodoo Rabbit, who I met them at the Craft and Quilt Fair in Brisbane. I am very excited as they have just recently become the latest Funky Friends Factory Stockist…and also because…

…the Funky Friends look absolutely awesome in their funky fabrics!

BUT first… before I show you how cute their toy samples turned out… let me tell you a bit more about Voodoo Rabbit and the talented designer who has made adorable fabrics from SPIDER WEBS and SKULLS!

Voodoo Rabbit is all about  skulls, cherries, black, red, white, space invaders, cotton textiles and all things heart shaped. They specialise in fabrics that match own tastes – which they describe as eclectic, rockabilly, retro, vintage, punk, sleek geek, dark and “a bit goth”  Pretty funky, I’d say! : )

In their own words:
Kylie is a bit goth and inspired by the rock-a-billy / tattoo cultures. Ky is a graphic designer and is the designed all the Voodoo Rabbit original fabric designs.

Cloud forgot to grow up and loves all things kawaii, 1950’s housewife & riot-grrl.  Cloud can’t draw so she ‘cooks the books instead and sews crazy toys.

You can see more of the Voodoo Rabbit original fabric designs and lots of other funky fabrics on  the Voodoo Rabbit website.

You can also pop into their  Voodoo Rabbit store at Coorparoo Markets Shop 103, Cnr Old Cleveland Rd and Cavendish Rd,  Coorparoo, Brisbane Queensland.

Now back to their gorgeous toy samples! When Ky and Cloud first enquired about wholesaling my patterns, I was really excited because I was curious to see how my ‘baby-faced’ critters would work into this ‘darker’ style and I have to say – I am blown away at the results! I love their fabric choices but I’ll let you judge for yourself!

Here is their version of Heather the Hippo…

…and this is their version of Stu the Sea Turtle…

…and this is my ABSOLUTE favourite!!! Their version of Artie Aardvark…

I know I say this a LOT, but I am always amazed at how cute the patterns turn out when other people make them as they are often much cuter than my originals! Soooo a big thank you to Voodoo Rabbit – THANKS for making my toys looks fabulous! I am proud to have you onboard as a FFF pattern stockist! : )

Don’t you think they are ABSOLUTELY divine?????

Checked out their website, and I LOVE their fabric choices. Too bad they are in Australia, and therefore shipping would be too much! 🙁 I think their original fabric designs paired with your animals, bring them to a whole “grown-up” realm that opens up more opportunity for you and for them! Congrats! 🙂

Thanks Michelle! I agree they look a bit more grown up! I have to say I am still amazed how cute skulls combined with pinstripes can be!
