Honey Teddy’s Fabulous Fabric Tour – Yardage Design fabric Giveaway!

Sep 5, 2012 | A day in my life, Blog, Competitions & Giveaways, FFF News

You may not remember what got this all started? Well,  Honey Teddy Bear got sick and tired of being made out of plain brown fleece and decided that we should go FABRIC SHOPPING

AND now Honey Teddy has been on tour again… this time she headed for MELBOURNE and fell in love with the fresh, crisp, hand-printed fabric from Yardage Design.

AND I also have some yummy Yardage Design fabric for a Giveaway!

How cool is that?

I have been a huge fan of  Yardage Design ever since I first met Nic at the Melbourne Stitchs & Craft show back in 2010.

Nic Jame - Yardage Design Melbourne

For those of you who haven’t yet met this talented gal,  Nic James is the creative designer behind Yardage Design a design business that specializes in hand screen-printed fabrics. Nic’s fabrics are created using water-based inks on natural fibers like hemp, organic cotton and linen.

Besides her fabulous fabrics, Nic creates lots of other wondeful things like this  ‘Make your own Bunting Panel,

make your own Bunting paneland a favourite of mine… Nic’s vintage-look menu tea towels.

menu tea towels

Nic has also recently been influenced by her time spent in Spain.

Her European-summer-inspired fabric range is called Verano, a Spanish word meaning “Summertime“. This is Verano – Petals in Ink Blue.

Yardage Design Melbourne verano fabricNic has given me a fat quarter of my favourite design of hers – Verano – Leaves in Crimson to make Honey Teddy. She came up with this design after she had a walk in a town in Spain – just sounds too lovely! To be honest, I think Honey Teddy loved the Spanish influence too, because that is what she insisited I make her out of!!!

AND here she is!

Honey Teddy Bear – in Verano Leaves.

Yardage Design Melbourne - fabric teddy bear - verano leavesThe fabric is wonderful to sew with, and I have tried to take a close up shot for you to see how lovely the fabric is! ( Technically speaking – the fabric is a light cream/off-white coloured, medium-weight linen/cotton blend.)

AND now for that Yardage Design Fabric Giveaway…

Up for grabs is a Verano Fabric Pack valued at AUD$20… AND the Honey Teddy made up in the Verano Leaves fabric!

All you need to do is pop across and check out ALL Nics’s gorgeous fabrics on her website, then leave me a comment below to let me know which of her fabrics is YOUR favourite
