Meet the Funky Friends Factory Dinosaur toy patterns!

Apr 17, 2024 | Blog, FFF News

There’s just something special about 🦖dinosaurs🦕 that delights kids and sparks their imaginations. Do you have a junior paleontologist in your life? Maybe you’ve got an adult fan of dinosaurs? Or maybe, like me, you’re a fan of fabric designer Tula Pink and are excited to use her new range of awesome dinosaur fabric called *ROAR* on some dino-themed projects!

Funky Friends Factory has three different dinosaur patterns for you to enjoy! There’s Timmy T-Rex, Tristan & Trixie Triceratops, and the Dippy Dinosaur Snugglies.

Let’s take a look…

First up is Timmy T-Rex.

He’s one of the most popular Funky Friends with kids of all ages!

Lindsey Mortimer made this blue minky version of Timmy T-Rex with dinosaur contrast fabric.

The Timmy T-Rex dinosaur sewing pattern works great as a baby clothing keepsake because it has fairly small pieces. There’s also a solid, no-seam chest piece where you can feature a favorite logo or image, as in the example below sewn by Kirsty Louise.

Timmy looks fabulous in pink, too! This Timmy T-Rex was sewn by Tina Winterborne.

Fabric with a dinosaur theme looks fabulous on Timmy T-Rex, as in this example sewn by Pat Nash.

Little kids love having Timmy T-Rex as a friend, too!

Wow! I think this Timmy T-Rex by Amanda Neat Wilson is nearly life-size for a baby dinosaur! Amanda enlarged Timmy to 300% and used 3.5 yards of fabric to create this gift for her son. This was only her 3rd Funky Friends Factory toy!

Timmy T-Rex looks great in batiks! Here’s a Timmy sewn by Stuart Dahl with a little friend.

All three of the Funky Friends Factory dinosaur patterns have some optional pieces. You can make Timmy with or without his spikes!

Next up are Tristan & Trixie Triceratops.

There are two dinosaurs on the cover because I’ve included two different “frill” options. You can use the realistic one (purple here) or the more cartoon-like one (blue here).

This is another pattern that’s great as a keepsake. Look how happy this little guy is with a Tristan Triceratops made from his baby clothes.

Tristan Triceratops is a large toy, so you can fit prints of all sizes on him. This one was sewn by Susan Leshinsky

It’s another super-sized dinosaur! This Trixie Triceratops was sewn at 200% by Diane Montague.

Christine Stock sewed this Trixie Triceratops in especially happy colors.

The stripes on the legs are a great contrast on this baby clothes keepsake Tristan Triceratops. Sewn by Keepsakes by Jasmin Hitchison.

How fun! Monkey in the Mailbox made this Tristan & Trixie Triceratops from long pile faux fur and sparkle fabric.

Betty Cooke sewed this Spiderman Tristan Triceratops that must have thrilled the new owner!

Marinnda N. used floral fabric for a fantastic pop of color on this Tristan Triceratops.

Finally, there’s the silly and fun Dippy Dinosaur Snugglies!

This Dippy Dinosaur sewing pattern has lots of options for you to mix and match the body and frill style. You can even use faux fur!

Mingon P. took her Dippy Dinosaur outside for a photoshoot!

Paula Blevins made a fun Halloween themed Dippy Dinosaur to go with this Kitty Kate.

The faux fur frill is fantastic on this Dippy Dinosaur sewn by Sew Softies.

I’m a fan of the Timmy T-Rex. I posted a picture of the Triceritops from your page onto my Facebook page and added a link to this page. Hope it gets you a lot of traffic. Love your patters, I have several but I’ve only made Mickey Moose and the Peacock one so far. I have two grandbabies coming so I needed a pattern to get my inspiration going.
