Welcome to the Blog

Celebrate the boy – come join in the fun!

Feb 15, 2011 | A day in my life, Blog, FFF News

Boys get a raw deal when it comes to sewing and crafting. It’s all pink with stars and ribbon, and if you’re a boy ..that’s YUCK!

Two of my favourite craft blogs, dana-made-it.com and made-by-rae.com have taken it upon themselves to “Celebrate the boy” this Feb with patterns, tutorials and craft ideas that are just for boys.

I love the way Dana takes the simplest things and turns them into something quite magical! So when I heard what they were up to, I just had to show my support for the ‘little blokes’ – because boys are really important here at Funky Friends Factory too!

And the most boy-friendly project I have, has got to be…

…the Silly Scraps Snakes!

So what I thought to start off with a step-by-step tutorial to make my Silly Scraps Snake Pattern to show you how they’re done and then follow it up with a great giveaway for a VERY limited time…

This Fabric Snake pattern is so quick and simple you can whip up as a last minute gift and the bonus is  – ANY fabric scraps can be used! The pattern is also simple enough (and manly enough!) for a boy to make for himself! Funnily enough, the youngest person ever to sew one of my patterns was an 8 year old boy! (He did have a bit of help from mum on the sewing machine but he was so proud of himself – I featured him on my “Stuffed Toy crafting with kids” blog post!)

Now, about that giveaway…

To get you in the ‘Celebrate’ mood. For a limited time I’m going to give away the Silly Scraps Snake e-Pattern with EVERY PURCHASE made in Feb (2011) and on the 28th of Feb, I will be drawing a winner for the Fabric Scrap Snake who will win the scrap snake that I made in the tutorial!

*** Just drop me a comment below to get your name in the draw!***

Good luck in the draw, and happy celebrating all the ‘boy-people’ in YOUR life!!!

.

bye for now,

~Pauline~
