When I designed the<\/span> Calico Bear pattern as a Signature Bear<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in 2008 I had no idea that it would become so popular as a keepsake bear pattern! Lots and lots of people sew lovely keepsakes with my bear pattern including one of my customers who we are highlighting today.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah makes keepsake toys from special items of clothing belonging to loved ones who are no longer here, outgrown baby clothes, uniforms or other special items. <\/span>One of the cutest keepsake bear she’s made is this mini keepsake bear<\/strong> that Sarah made by reducing the size of the <\/span> Calico Bear pattern<\/strong><\/span><\/a> so she could make a mini keepsake bear<\/span> using a small pyjama top. These are now available for order and they can be made using ONE baby outfit<\/span>!<\/span>

This is another gorgeous mini keepsake bear Sarah made by reducing the size of the <\/span> Calico Bear pattern<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>. It’s so easy to do this, I have a blog post about how to resize a pattern<\/strong><\/span><\/a> if you’d like to see how to shrink the pattern to make it into a mini keepsake bear pattern<\/span>!<\/span>

Sarah’s family had sad news in February this year when their Oma passed. She made these 4 very special bears from her Oma’s clothing for her Dad, Aunties and Uncle which have special hearts carrying some of her ashes<\/strong>, and some very special mini bears<\/strong> for some of the grandchildren including herself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides her gorgeous keepsake bears, Sarah also sews lovely keepsakes using my animal toy patterns. This adorable unicorn keepsake version <\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span>of my<\/span> Horsey Horse\u00a0 Pattern<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is made from baby clothes. I love her attention to detail – can you see the placement of the rainbows on the hooves? \ud83d\ude00<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is her keepsake bunny<\/strong> version of my<\/span> Easter Bunny Sewing pattern<\/span><\/strong><\/a> <\/span>made as a memory bunny toy from baby clothes. Again you can see that Sarah has taken great care with the placement of the pieces.<\/span>

Sarah’s keepsakes are made with embroidered eyes so they are safe for babies. She can also personalise the keepsakes with embroidered words, wings and even a photo.
