You may not remember what got this all started? Well,\u00a0 Honey Teddy Bear<\/strong> got sick and tired of being made out of plain brown fleece and decided that we should go FABRIC SHOPPING<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n

AND now Honey Teddy has been on tour again<\/strong>… this time she headed for MELBOURNE and fell in love with the fresh, crisp, hand-printed fabric from Yardage Design<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

How cool is that? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

I have been a huge fan of\u00a0 Yardage Design<\/strong><\/a> ever since I first met Nic at the Melbourne Stitchs & Craft show back in 2010<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Nic<\/p>\n

For those of you who haven’t yet met this talented gal,\u00a0 Nic James<\/strong> is the creative designer behind Yardage Design<\/strong><\/a> a design business that specializes in hand screen-printed fabrics<\/strong>. Nic’s fabrics are created using water-based inks<\/strong> on natural fibers like hemp, organic cotton and linen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Besides her fabulous fabrics, Nic creates lots of other wondeful things like this\u00a0 ‘Make your own Bunting Panel<\/strong><\/a>,<\/p>\n

\"makeand a favourite of mine… Nic’s vintage-look menu tea towels<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nic has also recently been influenced by her time spent in Spain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Her European-summer-inspired fabric range is called Verano<\/strong>, a Spanish word meaning “Summertime<\/strong>“. This is Verano – Petals in Ink Blue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"YardageNic has given me a fat quarter of my favourite design of hers – Verano – Leaves in Crimson<\/strong> to make Honey Teddy. She came up with this design after she had a walk in a town in Spain – just sounds too lovely! To be honest, I think Honey Teddy loved the Spanish influence too, because that is what she insisited I make her out of!!! <\/span><\/p>\n

\"YardageThe fabric is wonderful to sew with, and I have tried to take a close up shot<\/strong> for you to see how lovely the fabric is!<\/strong> ( Technically speaking – the fabric is a light cream\/off-white coloured, medium-weight linen\/cotton blend.)
