This cute little Kiwi Bird Sewing Pattern<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is named after the famous New Zealand opera singer<\/span> Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. I think Kiri’s mum is hoping she’ll sing beautifully when she grows up but so far she can only squawk!<\/span><\/h3>\n

I had fun ‘researching’ these unusual birds and discovered some really interesting facts about Kiwi birds I never knew! They’re rather ODD as far as birds go because they cannot fly! (they have wings but they are tiny and useless), they are about the size of a chicken but their eggs are 6 times bigger, and they have nostrils at the end of their beaks! Pretty weird!<\/p>\n

Kiri can be made up in fleece, of any type, stretch fabrics eg. velour, chenille and flannelette. I think she will look awesome all sorts of colours so don’t just stick to brown!<\/p>\n
