I made this photo tutorial so you can see how to sew my<\/strong> Lamkins\u00a0Sewing Pattern ~> scroll down for step-by-step photos!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Now you can sew the cutest little Lamkins Lamb<\/strong> baby toy, using most knit\/stretch fabrics (eg. Cuddle, minky, velour, chenille and flannelette, for the body). Add some cute highlights by adding\u00a0 any fabric scraps, including quilting scraps for the inner ear pieces, to personalize your toy.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

I have made this photo tutorial so people who have purchased my Lamkins Sewing Pattern<\/strong> can SEE how to sew a lamb baby toy! (I wanted to explain this so you are not disappointed if you have found this page via a search engine and not from the link in my Lamkins Lamb Sewing Pattern)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let’s get started!<\/span><\/h1>\n

STEP 1
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

It’s important to choose some KNIT (stretchy)fabric for sewing your lamb.\u00a0Lamkins looks great in fleece but he’s EXTRA cuddle in Cuddle! Add some cute highlights by adding\u00a0 any fabric scraps, including quilting scraps for the inner ear pieces, to personalize your toy.<\/p>\n

* Here I have made Lamkins in Shannon’s Cuddle – prints and solids for the first 3 and the last one is made in super-fluffy Luxe Cuddle\u00ae.<\/strong><\/p>\n

HEAD:<\/span><\/h1>\n
\n

STEP 2<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the dart in the FRONT of the CENTRE HEAD PIECE<\/strong><\/span>. (Do NOT cut and sew the back dart now).<\/p>\n

TIP: <\/strong>I’m going to say this again (because I don’t want\u00a0 you to miss it!!!)\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

***Don’t cut and sew the back dart now!***<\/strong><\/p>\n

EARS:<\/span><\/h1>\n
\n

STEP 3a
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the EAR PIECES<\/u><\/strong> together, (leaving the straight edges open.)<\/p>\n

STEP 3b
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Turn the EAR PIECES<\/u><\/strong> right side out. I used a wooden chopstick to smooth out the seams.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

STEP 3c
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Fold the top edge of each EAR<\/strong><\/span> inwards and pin them in this position.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

STEP 3d
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the fold of the EAR<\/strong><\/span> with a tacking stitch(basting) to keep them in this position.<\/p>\n

\n

STEP 4
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Pin the EARS<\/strong><\/span> in place ‘inside’ the dart of each SIDE HEAD PIECE<\/strong><\/span>, check that the fold of the EAR<\/strong><\/span> faces forwards by placing it on the fold mark on the SIDE HEAD PIECE<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

TIP: <\/strong>I put a pin in at the ear fold pattern marking so I can see where to pin the EAR<\/strong><\/span> on the right side of the fabric.<\/p>\n

STEP 5
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Fold the SIDE HEAD PIECES<\/strong><\/span> at the\u00a0 ear dart, with the fabric right sides together. Pin the dart closed, with the EARS<\/strong><\/span> in between, and sew the EARS<\/strong><\/span> in place.<\/p>\n

TIP: <\/strong>I like to check and make sure that the fold of the EARS<\/strong><\/span> is facing forward now so I can fix it NOW if it’s sewn in backwards!<\/p>\n

STEP 6
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the CENTRE HEAD PIECE<\/strong><\/span> to the SIDE HEAD PIECES<\/strong><\/span>, from A \u2013 B, on each side.<\/p>\n

TIP: <\/strong>I think it would be easier to sew one seam at a time especially if you are a beginner!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n

FACE:<\/h1>\n

STEP 7
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the FACE PIECE<\/strong><\/span> to the HEAD PIECES<\/strong><\/span> from C \u2013 D on each side first.<\/p>\n

Here you can see the PIECES pinned together.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And here I have added some purple arrows to show you where to sew on each side.<\/p>\n

STEP 8
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the top face seam<\/span> between the points marked C. (I have added a purple arrow, in the photo below, to show you where to sew.)<\/p>\n

And here you can see the PIECES<\/span><\/strong> sewn together.<\/p>\n

STEP 9
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew Lamkin\u2019s FACE and SIDE HEAD PIECES<\/strong><\/span> closed at the front. Sew from the tip of the nose (*) \u2013 D \u2013 E.<\/p>\n

STEP 10
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Turn the HEAD<\/strong><\/span> right sides out and check that you have caught all the fabric in the seams and that the FACE<\/strong><\/span> is nice and even on both sides.<\/p>\n

LEGS:<\/h1>\n

STEP 11
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

This photo is to show you the LEG<\/strong><\/span> and HOOF PIECES<\/strong><\/span> before they are pinned together.<\/p>\n

STEP 12

Fold each leg in half with right sides facing and sew down the front seam from J \u2013 K.<\/p>\n

Fold the BASE<\/strong> of the HOOF<\/strong><\/span> up and pin the side seams.<\/p>\n

Sew around the front of the HOOF<\/strong> from L \u2013 M.<\/p>\n
