Kiri the Kiwi Bird - PRINTED PATTERN
Finished Size: 30cm/11inch (from beak tip to tail - sits 18cm/7 iches tall)
This cute little Kiwi Bird is named after the famous New Zealand opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. I think her mum is hoping she will sing beautifully when she grows up but so far she can only squawk!
I discovered some really interesting facts about Kiwi birds, they are rather odd as far as birds go because they cannot fly! (they have wings but they are tiny and useless), they are about the size of a chicken but their eggs are 6 times bigger, and they have nostrils at the end of their beaks! Pretty weird!
This simple pattern will be fun to make in all sorts of colours so don't just stick to brown!
