Harmony Art – organic fabric Dinosaur Giveaway!

Posted under Competitions & Giveaways on 2012-01-16 13:11:31

We’re already half way through January, so I thought I’d better be quick with my 2012 New Year Giveaway! This year I’m teaming up with Harmony of
Harmony Art Organic Design for an

ORGANIC FABRIC DINOSAUR

GIVEAWAY!

HArmony Art organic fabric toy

This is Timmy T-Rex made in Chili Pepper Red organic flannel and Space Cowboy Red/Green organic cotton sateen.

T-Rex Spike

If you have made T-Rex before, you will see he has an EXTRA added row of spikes in the Space Cowboy fabric. I think I will have to add this to the pattern now as he looks so cute

BUT for now you can get the Spike Pattern Piece and Instructions HERE!

When most people think of organic fabrics they think of natural tones and washed out colours BUT Harmony’s fabrics are bright and bold and it’s great to have such bright fun colours to choose from in an organic fabric range!

The organic flannel is probably a little bit thicker than I would recommend for sewing Timmy. The hardest part was sewing his FACE PIECES to the JAW PIECES along the squiggly seam! BUT Harmony was able to let me know which thinner fabrics in her range would be better and so I’d stick with these for making Timmy – she recommends Scarlet Sateen or Lime Green Sateen.

I think he looks absolutely fantastic in Harmony’s fabric!!!

AND, it’s also great to know that not only do Harmony Art fabrics LOOK good…

they ARE good!

The entire range of Harmony Art fabrics are made of base fibers that are certified organic and those that are produced in India, are also Fair trade certified. ALL dyes and pigments used must meet stringent toxicity screening and biodegradability standards and are screened to prevent hazardous inputs from being used. It’s clear that when Harmony says, “we can rest assured that the people and the planet are being treated with respect.”, she really means it!
